My Top Five Vintage Christmas Favorites
Can I just say that I knew taking the week of Thanksgiving off was a bad idea? I knew free time was a luxury I could not afford! The idle days of the Thanksgiving holidays had exactly the effect I knew that they would and I am struggling to get back in the swing of things! So without further ado, may I present this week's blog post: My Top Five Vintage Christmas Favorites (in no specific order).

- Retro Bubble Lights
According to Wikipedia, the nostalgic Christmas tree favorite known as Bubble Lights were first patented in 1944 by Carl Otis and sold in the United States by NOMA, beginning in 1946. I can tell you that they have been reproduced by many companies since then, but reproduction or true vintage NOMA bubble lights will bring a certain nostalgia to your Christmas tree that is unlike any other. They are the perfect addition to your mid century Christmas decor since their peak popularity was reached during the late 1940s through the 1970s.

2. Gift Wrap & Greeting Cards
Wrapping gifts in vintage gift wrap really goes the extra mile in my opinion. Greeting cards with retro holiday themes or designs can have the same effect and never underestimate the power of a nostalgia to bring a smile during the holidays.
3. Hand Blown Glass Ornaments
Vintage hand-blown glass Christmas ornaments are a staple! Most have European origins, and many I have come across were made in Poland. All of the ornaments pictured above I found at a local thrift shop. As you can see, they come in a variety of shapes and colors and can feature many different styles. I just love the look of these delicate beauties; they remind me of my grandmother's Christmas tree!

4. Pixie Elves Figurines
These adorable pixie elves figurines were made in Japan and are hand painted. If you are lucky enough to find a few of these, you now own a treasured piece of vintage Christmas nostalgia.

5. Light-Up Ceramic Christmas Tree
These beautiful vintage ceramic Christmas trees have soared in their popularity as of lately. If you are fortunate enough to find one in good, working condition with its colored bulbs or birds included, you have truly unearthed a rare vintage favorite. And even if some bulbs are missing, replacements can often be purchased online.
